Wild Horses at the Salt River

October 30, 2019 by admin

We took a drive this morning to see the wild horses at the Salt River! We did see some wild horses, they were beautiful…so was the scenery. We went to a few places, but ended up seeing quite a few horses near a bridge. We hiked back a little to see if we could get some different views. But, honestly, the best and most peaceful views were just sitting on a rock near the bridge, in the quiet, watching the horses.

It was so tranquil out there, we cannot wait to go there again and just watch…in silence…so beautiful.

We finished up the morning by having a great breakfast at Shiprock Restaurant at Saguaro Lake!! It was a great morning!!!

We visited Saguaro Ranch Park in Glendale, Arizona. We wanted to go for a walk, but wanted to walk somewhere other than our neighborhood. We decided to take a short drive to Saguaro Ranch Park. It was so worth it!! The park is beautiful!

Not only are there old farmhouses, there are softball fields, ramadas for picnics and barbeques, and beautiful rose gardens!

It is a beautiful place to walk or run.

So, if you just want to get out and enjoy nature and don’t have much time or money, try visiting Saguaro Ranch Park! It is a beautiful park with a variety of things to do and see there!

Check out the Giant Spurs!!

September 15, 2019 by admin

If you are taking a nice drive through Wickenburg, Arizona, don’t miss seeing the Giant Spurs as you are leaving town!! The drive is so beautiful by itself, but you can’t miss seeing these iconic spurs.

We are not big fans of roundabouts, but if we must have them, they should all be as fun as this one! The biggest set of spurs you will likely ever see….it must take one mighty big cowboy to fill ’em!!

A Beautiful Drive Up Near Cornville, Az!!

September 13, 2019 by admin

So, we have been really busy, and we decided we needed a break and went for a drive up north! It was a beautiful cloudy morning, with the hope of rain showers along the way. We did not get rained on, but Jim at Jim’s Trading Post told us we had just missed a monsoon! Jim’s Trading Post was actually our destination for the day! Whether you are just on a drive, looking for something in particular or on a treasure hunt, you MUST stop at Jim’s Trading Post!  We were so taken in by all that there was to see, we neglected to take pictures!  Here are a couple of pictures off of his Facebook page:

It was such a pretty drive from the valley. Jim’s Trading Post was so fun to visit. We ended up buying a bracelet and a ring! So pretty!! The drive back to the valley came much too soon. It made it much easier to know that we will be back…and soon!

Oatman, Arizona…Get Your Kicks, Like We Did, on Old Route 66!!

August 12, 2019 by admin

We like to travel up to Laughlin, Nevada, and when we do, we love to go to Oatman, Arizona. The drive there is a beautiful scenic route through the Black Mountains of Mohave County, Arizona, on the historical Route 66. The beautiful drive winds around and through the mountains up to Oatman. When you arrive into this bustling old mining ghost town, plan to have a committee of wild burros welcome you. Oatman is such a fun place to visit, with the wild burros roaming the streets, fun shops to search for a souvenir in, and the staged wild west shoot outs on weekends! This is such a great old mining town that is still alive. The saying is that this town is too tough to die! So, remember Oatman, Arizona, and get your kicks on the old Route 66!!

We Loved Bearizona!!

July 26, 2019 by admin

Bearizona…one word…amazing!! We had wanted to go there for some time. You know the routine, something reminds you of the place, you say we need to go there, but then, you don’t go. Don’t let that happen for Bearizona, it was a great place to go, and it was a beautiful day away from the summer heat!

You are able to go through the driving portion of Bearizona as many times as you like during the day of your ticket entry. We would recommend you go through at least twice, as you will see animals and their behaviors differently each time you go through! Did we say amazing!?!

We were able to see the animals and their beautiful habitats. In addition to the driving portion of Bearizona, they also have a walking portion on the grounds, similar to zoos that we are accustomed to, but well worth walking through! Personally, I loved the otters, my all-time favorite, but the raccoons, foxes and all the others were my favorites as I watched them. Much of the time, I was in awe that I was actually seeing them…and up so close!

We were able to see a bear in a tree, a raccoon climbing down a tree, 2 bobcats circling their habitat, wolves circling our vehicle and a jaguar staring down a young boy through the glass of it’s habitat…the stare down of this large cat was unbelievable!!

So, go, get out of the summer heat! Go to Bearizona!! You won’t regret it!!!

Join Us on This Adventure!!

July 24, 2019 by admin

We just wanted to write a post thanking you all for showing up! We are at the beginning of a Grand Adventure! So many adventures to go on and we want to share them with you! We also want to share how we make and save money to make it all possible.

Whether we are clipping coupons, or making extra money on websites such as Swagbucks, Instagc, Inbox Dollars or saving money shopping online through websites such as Swagbucks or Rakuten, we want to share it all with you!

To give you a little background of how this came about, I was a single mom of 2 boys. While I was able to pay rent and keep food on the table, sometimes extra bills would need to be paid, not to mention, just wanting to take the kids out to do something special. I know, you don’t always have to spend money to make memories, but sometimes, it is fun to do so! In addition, it is an amazing feeling to have the freedom to make choices of what to do with your extra money! That may look different for everyone, but the one thing that remains the same is the freedom you feel making the choices for yourself!

We will be sharing our stories through posts and videos. We want you to be able to earn and save the way that we do to give us the freedom to live this life as a Grand Adventure!

Come back often and enjoy our tips and trips!!

We Rode the Arizona Snowbowl Ski Lift!

July 22, 2019 by admin

We rode the Arizona Snowbowl ski lift! Snowbowl is known as a great ski resort, but riding the ski lift in the summer was just breathtaking!

We took a 30 minute ride up the ski lift up to an elevation of 11,500 feet. Such scenic views, it was quite amazing. We enjoyed the quiet ride up the mountain, it was just a relaxing time to talk and take in the views. Once up there, you can walk further up the mountain or stay in the area where the ski lift lets you off, but no matter, the views are just spectacular!

When we came down the mountain, the views were still just amazing! Part of the way down, we could hear the sound of guitars. It was nice against the backdrop of the mountain views! There was a band playing music, and games and activities for the kids or just the young at heart! It was just a great, relaxing day up in the mountains at Arizona Snowbowl.

One last thing…don’t do what we did. We did not purchase our tickets ahead of time, as we could have saved 20% by purchasing our tickets online. You must purchase your tickets online at least by midnight the day before you intend to take the ski lift ride. So, go now and buy your tickets for the Arizona Snowbowl ski lift.

We highly recommend this trip, and we plan to go again when the leaves are changing color in the Fall!! Can’t wait!!
