For those who live in Phoenix, Arizona, we know how hot it can get. So, we took a nice little trip to Prescott for the weekend. A quick ride up north to an elevation over 5000 feet, gave a much needed reprieve from the heat. Prescott has numerous places to fish and hike. This weekend we chose to go to Goldwater Lake, located south of Prescott in North Central Arizona. At Goldwater Lake, there is fishing, hiking, and kayaking. The lake also has picnic benches throughout, with gathering places and playgrounds.

If you are hungry for a meal out, we highly recommend the Lone Spur Cafe. We ate breakfast there, you can’t beat the food, atmosphere and prices. We really enjoyed our time there.

After a nice meal, you can walk around the famous downtown Whiskey Row along with a nice, cool walk around the Historic Yavapai County Courthouse.
