It’s that time of year…back to school. There are so many tugs at our wallets for needed items, whether it is clothing or items the kids need for school, let’s get it done and save money along the way. Over the next several weeks we will be posting ways to save money on the purchases that need to be made. We will also be posting about great deals to stock up on for the coming year.
In addition to the deals that we will be posting, we will go over money saving websites that allow you to save while shopping online. One such website is Swagbucks. If you join, you can shop online by first clicking through Swagbucks to the store of your choice. You will earn a percentage of your purchase back in Swagbucks, which will allow you to earn a giftcard of your choice once you have enough Swagbucks. Every 100 Swagbucks equals $1.00. So, for example, if you shop at Walmart, and you earn 4% on your purchase, if you spend $50, you will earn 200SB, which is $2.00. This can add up over time, and then you can cash in for a gift card to various retailers and restaurants, or even paypal.
Another money saving website for shopping online is ratuken.com. Similarly to Swagbucks, you click through the Rakuten website to the retailer of your choice before making your online purchase. With Rakuten, though, you can also set up your credit card on the site to give you cash back at certain retailers when you shop in their retail store. This is a nice benefit, as we don’t always do our shopping online.
